Wordsworth House was the birthplace of Wordsworth. He was born on the 7th April 1770 and lived in Cockermouth with his sister Dorothy until the death of his mother in 1778.

The Garden A new layout has made to create a formal arrangement of beds and paving at the front of the house, and an attractive pattern of productive beds and paths at the rear of the house. Nearly £1 million of funding has been provided by The Heritage Lottery Fund, the Cumbrian Rurual Development Programme and the European Regional Development Fund
